Welcome to Drewsar!
At Drewsar, dogs are not just a hobby. They are family companions, athletes, and an important part of our everyday lives.
Located in Ontario, Canada, Drewsar is home to both Portuguese Water Dogs and Lagotto Romagnolos. For more than two decades, we have been dedicated to preserving, promoting, and breeding healthy, structurally sound dogs with exceptional temperaments. Our focus has always been producing dogs that can thrive as beloved family companions while also excelling in the show ring, performance events, and a variety of canine activities.
Our journey with Portuguese Water Dogs began in 1998, and our program was established in 2004. Since then, dogs bred under the Drewsar prefix have earned numerous championships and performance titles across Canada and the United States. They have excelled in conformation, agility, rally obedience, scent work, water work, trick dog, and other sports. While we are proud of these accomplishments, we are most proud of the lasting relationships we have built with the families who welcome our puppies into their homes.
Our passion for purebred dogs eventually led us to the remarkable Lagotto Romagnolo. Known for their intelligence, versatility, and affectionate nature, Lagotti quickly became an important part of the Drewsar family. We are committed to preserving the unique characteristics of this wonderful breed while maintaining the same high standards for health, temperament, and structure that guide our Portuguese Water Dog program.
At Drewsar, every breeding decision is made with careful consideration. Health testing, pedigree research, temperament evaluation, and breed preservation are at the heart of our program. We believe responsible breeding extends far beyond producing puppies. It means providing lifetime support to our puppy families, educating future owners, and remaining active within breed clubs and the wider dog community.
Our puppies are raised in our home as part of the family from day one. They are carefully socialized, introduced to everyday household experiences, and given the foundation they need to become confident, well-adjusted companions. We take great pride in matching each puppy with the right family and staying connected throughout their lives.
Whether you are looking for a devoted family companion, a performance partner, or your next show dog, we are committed to helping you find the perfect fit.
Thank you for visiting Drewsar. We look forward to sharing our love of Portuguese Water Dogs and Lagotto Romagnolos with you.
